About DeLotus

Welcome to DeLotus — a curated selection of teaware, incense tools, and quiet objects for the everyday.

This shop was born from a personal journey.
As a Chinese woman who has lived across cultures and continents, I returned home after years abroad and found myself drawn not to the modern skyline, but to the slower rhythms of older towns — places where tea is still poured slowly, incense still burns at dawn, and quiet craftsmanship is part of daily life.

In recent years, I began spending more time in these places — not with an agenda, just curiosity. I’ve always been drawn to objects that carry the soul of a region: the soft green celadon of Longquan, the deep aroma of Pu’er tea from Dali, the smokiness of Wuyi reds, the weathered wooden beams of ancient buildings, and the quiet symbolism in traditional Chinese patterns.
These pieces — even when I didn’t bring them home — stayed with me. They reminded me that beauty isn’t always ornate; it’s often local, lived-in, and full of meaning.

DeLotus reflects this path.
The name comes from "De", the Dutch word for “the” — a quiet nod to my years in the Low Countries — and "Lotus", the flower deeply rooted in Chinese culture, symbolizing stillness, clarity, and resilience. Together, they hold a dual spirit: grounded and open, East and West, practical and poetic.

This philosophy also guides how I select. I believe beauty should be practical, meaningful, and accessible — never overpriced or overly ornamental. It should feel right in the hand, serve a purpose in daily life, and carry a quiet presence without demanding attention.

Every piece in the shop is chosen with three questions in mind:
✦ Is it beautiful in form and feeling?
✦ Does it serve a quiet purpose in someone’s life?
✦ Can it connect — not just decorate?

This shop isn’t built around trends.
It’s shaped by people, places, and the objects that quietly accompany us. Each item you see has been held in hand, used in life, and chosen with care.

Whether you’re a tea lover, a slow-living soul, or someone simply seeking grounding in daily moments — welcome.
Thank you for allowing DeLotus to be a part of your space.
